Escitalopram 5mg

Hello , I went to see my doctor again and she asked have I started the escitalopram and I told her no, I’m still nervous. So now she wants to try a different method, instead of taking the medicine of everyday , she wants me to take the pills 3 times a week for one week , then the next week, to take it 4 times a week, until I’m okay with taking it everyday. I feel okay with doing it that way. But I wanted to get some opinion from other people taking the same medicine. Success stories only please.

You don't have to be nervous, I started with 5 mg and went up to 10 mg after a week, today is my 5th week taking the medicine and I can tell you this medicine works, I got my confidence back and feel myself again. My advice to you is go ahead, take the 5 mg a day but that's up to you. Good luck!

I take mine in the early morning, so the first 2 weeks I had a mild Anxiety in the morning but it stopped in the afternoon though, now I don't have that anymore. Go for it...

I just moved up to 10 mg 3 days ago, which is something I had been dreading literally for months. I really expected it to be terrible. It actually hasn't been bad at all :-). I suspect you'll be the same way. Because it won't be as bad as what you are imagining, that will help decrease your anxiety about taking the pills.

?Keep in mind too that some people experience NO side effects when starting, or have side effects so mild they don't even realize it. My Dad is on 10 mg of escitalopram, and didn't even realize that "side effects" is a thing!! He had no issues with starting them, and went right on 10 mg. I think many people are like that. We just read about the more severe side effects here, because people are more likely to post when they are having a rough time.

    Hi Agnes.

I had same issues with starting the medication, i was scared of the side effects, so i started slowly from 2.5mg for about a week, then 5mg for about 3weeks, now ive moved to 7.5mg and im adjusting to this, ive been on it for about 10 days or less, i take it in the morning because taking it at night increases insomnia!

I also take it with breakfast at almost same time every morning, because you dont want to feel weak from an empty stomach when you have other stuff to deal with.

Next thing i want to stress is that i have changed my diet, no more sugras and fast foods/ processed food, i eat well, eg: vegies, fruits, sweet potatoes, fish, almonds, olive or coconut oil, etc you can research foods that help with anxiety and drink lots of water.

If you dont want to keep upping your dosage, you have to maintain a very healthy lifestyle to support the effect of the drug, its not easy, one or two strange feelings in the head at first, but beacause you know its the drug, you just cope somehow.

Lastly i want to add that i take green tea every morning and i take " sleepy time" celestial night time tea which has a combination of chamomile, spearmint, lemon grass, hawthorns, etc, it works magic with the insomnia you get at the first few days, thats if at all you get them, mine didnt last at all..

I also take nitrazepam in tiny doses when ever i cant bear a panick attack and as the meds kick in, i get off the nitrazepam because its an addictive drug...

Good luck!!! Just do it and start counting the days...🤗🤗🤗
