    Irene,

Can't believe that no-one has replied to this when you need help. I have just stumbled across it and hope my late reply can be of use still.

Any antibiotic WILL have an effect on the processing of a majority of meds and supplements in the gut. The antibiotic targets bacteria - both good and bad - which contribute to the processing of the antidepressant. If you need to take the antibiotic for medicinal reasons, try to take it as far apart from your usual dose of Escitalopram as possible, thus giving smallest possible interaction.

It is likely that you will notice something akin to a mini withdrawal during the period of taking the amox. But your normal functioning will return when the course is complete. Please note also that unless in severe cases, 7-10 days is the MOST you should be on a course of antibiotics of that strength.

Please let us know how you go/got on...

    Matt
