Hi Leah,
I feel you on this. I just started back up on Lexapro (5mg) and am on 4 weeks with no improvement what so ever. I'm planning on sticking it out to the 6 week mark, and see if anything improves. We might be the type of people that require a longer period of time for the effects to kick in.
Keep me posted and good luck!!

I started taking escitalopram about 2 and a half weeks ago for anxiety and depression due to this horrible mono virus I’ve been experiencing. It does take a while for these types of medications to settle in and for me the first week was really horrible as well.I feel slightly less anxious now but still not that great. Just wishing to feel like myself again. I hope this medication starts working for you soon, hang in there and I would wait a bit longer to see if it produces any positive effects.

Hi Leah, I'm on the same boat as you. I've been taking escitalopram 10mg for 6 weeks and I still have diarrea, nausea, and panic attacks frequently, which I didn't even have before starting. Supposedly 80% of people feel an improvement by week 8, so I would stick with it a little longer.
I hope it starts working for both of us soon.

I'm on Day 26 of 10 mg; after several good days in a row, I had a bad day/night yesterday. I'm still experiencing side effects, as well. I'm really sick of dealing with this. I do plan to stay on this dose until 12 weeks, and then I'll probably be increasing.
?These meds do take a while to kick in....as tempting as it can be to quit or switch to something else, I'd recommend hanging in there until the 8 week point, at least. I've even read some reviews where people say it doesn't start to work for them until the 3 month mark!
