I have never heard of this title Sarah.

I have an appointment with a specialist Nurse Practioner at our hospital who I have seen before who gave me a Spinal Epidural injection after an MRI and a  thorough assessment.  I was impressed by her professionalism.

My appointment is for "Triage and Treat" in other words a preliminary examination. Tues.23rd is the date.

If the person you are enquiring about is a non-medically qualified person I would question the validity of their assessment and possible treatment,

Thank you for your reply George. As far as I know they are professionals in the spinal field.

    Hi Sarah

I have moderate/severe spinal problems. To be quite honest, never heard of ESP for the spine, only in the Supernatural    oooooooooh !!

Sorry to hear you have a problem, hope it is not long before you get the right treatment and any pain  you have subsides.

All the best and good luck.

Thank you Kevin. I'm in awful pain and when i move i have a huge spasm of painfrom back and down left leg. Today I also cant lift my left leg alone I have to pull wit my trousers. I'm in the West Country , and here you hace to see an ESP before you can see a spinal consultant. The ESP I had seen once for my two disc bulges(confirmed by MRI) has discharged me saying it will get better each day! I do not know what to do. I am so uncomfortable. Ant suggestions I would be grateful for .

      Hi Sarah

sounds like you have also, or may have  Sciatica as well. This is one of the main nerves that comes from your spinal cord and goes down both legs.

All I can suggest is to rest as much as you can and take painkillers that you have found work for you.

Sorry to hear that you are in so much pain, I feel for you.

Let us know how you get on.

      All the best.

Not sure whether the thread is still active but yes I have heard of an ESP, 1 just about ruined my life last year!  I underwent disc surgery 3 times in 10 years and was diagnosed with SEVERE spondalosis at all discs levels of the cervical and lumbar spine by 2 leading spinal surgeons.  That is, until my back deteriorated further and I only got to see an ESP (or glorified phisiopheripist) who is NOT as such even medically qualified but she altered my diagnosises from severe to moderate which has caused my disability to be struck out!  They can be very good but be very carful ......
