I'm 42 and been suffering with symptoms for over 6mths now. From sweats, fatigue, anxiety, you name it I've got it!

Embarking on HRT after discussion with docs (risks /benefits).

Is anyone else on estelle duet 1mg?

What can I expect? How was your experience?

Hi, I've been in the same situation as you but managed the hot flushes with herbal supplements and thought I was okay. Until recently when the anxiety attacks started. Horrible! I have recently started taking DLPA which is an amino acid supplement. Have only been taking it for 4 days and feel so much better. I've got an appointment to discuss HRT on 12th July. I know this isn't much help as I couldn't answer your question but just wanted to let you know that I understand how you're feeling and really hope that the HRT works well for you x

      Thanks for sharing.

How do you feel about HRT?

I have put it off because of fear but am now more bothered by my symptoms.

As long as I don't feel worse it can't be a bad thing.

To be honest I wanted to avoid HRT if at all possible. I'm 47 and have not had a period for 4 years. I had the hot flushes but took Menopol Plus and Sage supplements and that got rid of them. So I really thought I was okay until the last couple of months when I've been having awful anxiety attacks - mostly at night - and after doing lots of research found out that this was a symptom of menopause. Also had vaginal atrophy so was put on HRT pessaries a couple of weeks ago. However, I couldn't insert them properly so have just been using coconut oil for now. The GP said that the gynae dept at hospital would discuss HRT options with me. The gynae department said discuss it with your GP! It's really frustrating because I feel that they have been really unsympathetic. GP said "I would like you to go on HRT for five years". I said that I was very concerned about weight gain, cancer risk, thrombosis etc. He then looked at me and just repeated "I would like you to go on HRT for 5 years". I'm meeting with the nurse on the 12th and hope she'll be more helpful than that!!!
