Estradiol Cream for Vaginal Atrophy... do symptoms go away with use??
Posted , 4 users are following.
I have been using Estradiol cream for 2 weeks - low dose (1 gram) 1 x week. I have been extremely bloated, gained weight and have stomach pains...but the worst is the depression. I have been SO sad and crying all the time.
Do the symptoms go away with use? I feel like I haven't given it a chance (there are NO improvements on my vaginal walls yet)...but I do not think I can do this anymore.
Anyone out there have any experience with this drug? Thank you!

Hi Jacquie,
When you say cream, are you talking about cream you apply externally or internally?
I've used internally, for some weird reason it caused a burning sensation with me. Then I tried the pessary tablets and (tmi warning), I was so dry the tablets didn't dissolve!
I had to take oral HRT. I've had mixed results. I tried Livial, which improve things at first, but then it seemed minimal help to nothing at all. I stopped at six months.
Internally I tried Aci jel which really worked to decrease vaginal atrophy symptoms. Externally I used cold pressed sweet almond oil. I tried coconut, olive etc
Just started on a low dose of estrogen now, so I'll see how that goes.

Hi! It's the cream that you apply internally with an applicator. I only did 2 doses and it messed me up good. I ended up stopping and within a few days was back to my normal sane self. I am back to looking for natural remedies. I would rather live with the pain than be so depressed and bloated. Someone recommended lube with cbd oil that I am looking into. Will post once I give that a whirl. Good luck on the low dose estrogen...hoping you have success with it!

Have you tried half the dose? Sometimes it works better.

There are better alternatives like coconut oil suppositories that help minimize the affects of vaginal atrophy. There's also a new non-hormonal cream my gyne doctor recently told me about but i need to get clearance from my oncologist for her to prescribe it. Its called Intrarosa but its only by rx. Ask your doctor if you can get it rx to you.
