Unable to reply to you jayneejay so I have had to post this as a new topic. Thank you for your interesting reply listing the different types of oestrogens in our body. I was told Gynest no longer exists yet someone has just posted that they are using it! I have been prescribed the Estriol which I will try tonight but looks a bit messy to me I might just continue with the Vagifem. I am also using Hydromol around the external area I find this takes away the dryness. It is like Vaseline and can be used instead of soap also to wash without any allergic reactions.cheesygrin

    i think all these estriols etc all vary to where ladies  live ..

    Ie.. Uk, Spain, Usa etc etc etc ..

     

    i am i spain and i have ovestin Estriol Ovules they are not messy they are great, i also use a tiny bit of the ovestin cream to the outer bits to keep all softened so dont get thin..

    ovestin estriol cream is also for vaginal use and a liitle tiny bit is good for outer parts ..

    good luck with the hydromol... Etc 😊

    I am using Estriol, used it nightly for 2 weeks and now twice a week. It is a bit messy but I put panties on to go to bed. Since using it I have attempted sex trwice with my long distance partner and each time it has been too painful to continue.I do not have any itching or discharge, just the problem of having sex. I might try the vit E capsules but can anyone suggest anything else. Oh yes doctor told me to use almond oil on the entry to my vagina to help lubrication. I am considering giving up on relationships now as it is too embarrassing.

      i got discomfort like that, but ovestin estriol helped no end, infact i been using since last sept.

      i use the ovestin ovule estriol it is not messy like cream.

      the cream pop abit on outer bits especially vag entrance keeps the skin from thinning etc ....

    The Vagifem after about 12 months of painful sex to no sex seems to have worked. Last week on holiday, instead of getting just a bit of the penis in I got 80 per cent without pain. I also lubricated inner and outer bits with coconut oil and he used some on his penis and there was no friction or discomfort. The hydromol is great for washing and putting a membrane on the skin to keep off faeces and urine, so that formula seems to be working for me at the moment

      For those in the USA, what is hydromol ?  Someone said like vasaline?  How do you use it?  I understand oils and vasaline should not be used, especially internally, as over time it can not really wash away and it can harbor bacteria and that can cause infection.  I've been using a bit of the vag cream on the external area and opening to the vag to keep it coated so no stinging when uriniating.

    It is like an emollent wash. It comes in a pot and looks like vaseline but it goes soapy when wet. It can be used in the shower and also applied direct to the affected area
