Etapedectomy under or local?

Hi there, I am scheduled to go through an Etapedectory (Otosclerosis issue) surgery and was wondering if I should go with a general anasthesia or local. Please advise.

Thank you.

It depends on your age, health and what your ENT has recommended. Did they tell you how long the surgery lasts for? Can you lay still that long and will you be very anxious about the proceedure (in which case a general would be best.) I haven't heard of this procedure being done under a local but great if your ENT has given you that option.

Do you mean a stapedectomy?  Removal of stapes bone?     It can be done under a general or local, although traditionally a general.       If you can lay still for about one and a half hours then go for it. Personally I would prefer a general, but its up to you.
