ETD

I believe I have been suffering from ETD since December 2016. I am going to see a specialist 7-31-17 to see if i am a candidate for the balloon dilation procedure. Feeling helpless and super depressed bc of the symptoms. Ear fullness, cracking, and popping ever time I swallow. I am unable to get any relief from these symptoms!

Anyone out there have a successful procedure and what were your symptoms?

Jamie, i am so sorry u  are suffering from this.  I had it for over 5 yrs.  Yes, i had the balloon dilation and am better.  I had the same symptoms, popping, crackling, fullness pain, muffled hearing.  I  actually had it done twice.  The first time, i woke up with my ears popped...finally.. i couldn't pop them for yrs...then i got a bad cold, cough, and they plugged up again. So i went back to trying to open them by plugging my nose and blowing.....i wish i hadn't... i think i was just irritating them.  So i had the procedure done again and it worked.  I NEVER try to pop my ears when the get plugged. They work all on their own now. I wish u the best.  I know how devasting this can be!

Thank you for giving me hope! Yes I have muffled hearing and fullness in my left ear with cracking and popping and my left ear just has the cracking and popping. Is the procedure done under anesthesia? How long was your recovery time? I'm praying so hard for relief. I want my life back, its been devestating. I had a horrible break down last night. No one understands unless you have experienced it. I had a cold in December went to sleep, woke up and my life has never been the same! 😢
