ETD progress

Haven't posted in a while. I've been suffering with ETD for close to 14 months. Have seen 4 doctors 3 of them ENT specialists. Happy to report that the last physician I saw suggested an ear tube to balance the air pressure in my ears " with the rest of the planet" as he put it. Had the relatively painless procedure on 3/22//17 in his office as an outpatient. Took a whole 5 minutes following an audiology test. So far, so good. There is a feeling of fullness in my ear which he said would clear in a week or so, but that horrible feeling I suffered with is gone and day by day I feel less and less fullness in my ear. Have to wear an ear plug for showering for the first week and following that, can shower, swim, get water in my ear with no problems. Tube should fall out on it's own within 15 to 20 weeks. We are both optimistic this will solve problem, but if not, Balloon Dilation of Eustachian Tube is still an option, as doctor stated this is a debatable 50/50 procedure among ENT's. Hope those of you still in distress find some relief and peace in your lives. Will keep you posted occasionally on my progress. Hope and best to all of you

?Peace

I am surprised you can get it wet. Everything I have read says you have to use plugs anytime you swim or shower.

Glad it seems to be working!

Interesting Merlin the diversification of ENT specialists opinions. One I've seen says it's ETD.Next one say there's no evidence of that. The third one just said "no treatment,no cure" & that  balloon dilation can cause the onset of a stroke. To add to the problem my GP can't find a qualified person able to do a saline wash.
