ETD Treatment!

I've been reading these forums for several years now, but no ones symptoms sounded exactly like mine so I didn't bother trying very many treatment suggestions. I don't know for certain that I have eustachian tube dysfunction, but my symptoms are very similar. I've had the ear popping for 6 years now. I got so fed up with it two days ago with stress of the holidays and it was making my depression worse. I needed to do something about it. I remember that around the time the popping started happening, I got my wisdom teeth taken out. I searched ETD and oral surgery and found that many people suggest chiropractors (I know others have suggested this in these forums). I tried prescriptions, no one thought it was an allergy. Nothing helped. I saw that some other people suggested chiropractic methods, so I got into a chiro this morning. He said my neck was the most tense he's ever seen and it's very possible that something bone structure wise was tweaked when my dentist took my wisdom teeth out. He did massage therapy and I noticed a slight difference, the pressure wasn't building up as quickly. He adjusted my neck and I felt drainage down the back of my throat.
In 6 years I haven't had any sort of relief, but today about an hour ago, there was some hope and relief. I want to cry tears of joy. It is not completely fixed, but it feels better. I'm visiting him again Thursday. I will update if anything changes. I can still taste a slight drain in the back of my throat, probably from the eustachian tubes. If this doesn't completely go away, then he's going to send me to another chiropractor who does oral massage. At least there's hope and I'm more optimistic for a cure or a way to treat it my condition. I highly recommend trying a chiropractor. Something can be tweaked in your ear or neck that can cause this popping issue.

Hi Luke - it’s Christmas Eve and my chiropractor appt was Thursday morning. The results and relief have lasted. The pressure is not building up like it used to. Driving and eating are still creating popping but that pales in comparison to what I had been dealing with before.
This was a spine and injury chiropractor. He hadn’t seen anything like it before so I was skeptical he could help but he was the earliest appt I could get. The least that I’d get was an adjustment but low and behold it has helped. I think with the stress of family staying with my fiancé and I, the holidays, work, college; all of this stress was turned into tension in my neck.
Any chiropractor should be able to tell you if your TMJ is normal just by feeling your jaw move. Every chiropractor knows how to adjust your 1-2 cervical vertebrae. So at least your average chiropractor can eliminate or help those two issues. I believe you need a chiropractor that specializes in the ear and face to adjust those parts, like you said, a cranial chiropractor.
I’ve found these forums have been more helpful than any doctor’s advice. I’m at my wits end with my primary physician. She didn’t take me seriously, wouldn’t even suggest an ENT, gave me prescriptions that made it worse, and multiple other things. She never looked in my ears, nose or throat. Then diagnosed me with vasomotor rhinitis. Basically you get symptoms of having allergies without actually having allergies. She said there was nothing to do about it. I begged her for something for anxiety to get me through the holidays because I couldn’t sleep and was not going to be able to go to any of my family holiday get togethers. Nope, she wouldn’t even do that. My depression got so bad, I didn’t get out of bed for a week. That’s where I put my foot down and knew I had to find answers on my own.
I go back to the chiropractor Thursday and will update.

Hey ashley, yea i agree. My father always tells me " You are your own doctor." Go with your gut instinct and I'm you sure you will manage to heal and overcome this condition believe in yourself and try not take notice of the condition as best as you can (easier said than done thats what im trying to do too and its hard) Best of luck and I hope this relief is long lasting. One small question how did your ETD start?
