Hi Mike, the following is research information from "Balloon dilation of the eustachian tube: a tympanometric outcomes analysis" by Blair Williams, Benjamin A. Taylor, Neil Clifton and Manohar Bance- Journal of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery2016

"The natural history of Eustachian tube dysfunction is poorly understood, and evidence for current treatments are limited. Eustachian tube balloon dilation is a safe procedure, and produces significant improvement in tympanogram values up to 15 months post-operatively. Further refinement of patient selection and standardization of technique is required to optimize the effect of this therapy. Longterm follow-up data will clarify the persistence of the effect."

Where do you live so that only people from around you tell you who they have seen. x

Thanks for input on balloon dilation. Luckily I have found the resolution after 5 years of ear congestion, etd, crackling without having to do this

It is not completely resolved but I am seeing substantial improvement after going to a naturopath doctor who tested me for food sensitivities. They do the igG test as opposed to the igE that MD Allergists do. The theory is igG measures immflammation. After cutting out those categories of food I have seen substantial improvement. It will take more time to tell if it fully resolves but it is noticeably better. I also take ant-inflammatory supplements. I don't get 24 hours of relief but I can go hours where it feels normal. If it doesn't resolve fully there is still the balloon dilation option to help it along. I found 3 who are trained in this city but would not want to waste time and money unless they were experienced
