It's a long term problem with my ears. I get flare ups. My symptoms vary but I get itchy ears, earache, loud noises get to me, ringing in the ears, lots of pressure on back of ears, dizziness. Sometimes can't get out of bed with the dizziness it makes me feel sick. Doctors say my ears are fine so can't refer me to ent specialist. Any one with something similar that has home remedies to help. Thank you

    Hi,

I have similar symptoms and got an ENT specialist referral. My scans came back normal so they said it could be ETD and only option was to have grommet surgery. I had the surgery and symptoms came back 2 weeks after. Specialist said it cant be ETD as the surgery would have worked and there was nothing they could do.

I went back to my GP who offered me anti-depressants to help with the pain and they did. I was offered these before I was offered the surgery and I wish I had taken them.

They dont work anymore as I dont think anti-depressants are a long term solution. I researched online for ages and came across articles about TTTS tonic sensor tympanic syndrome which is an anxiety based condition and can cause tinnitus. It says magnesium supplements can help so I took them and they have. I do still get some symptoms mostly pain but its manageable and its not constant.

My GP said she would give me a referral to a private hospital but its expensive. I am still considering this.

If you havent done so already, maybe go back to your GP and see if they give you a private referral. I was told that if its not on the NHS website, specialists at normal hospitals cant diagnose you with it. Be persistent with them and dont let them fob you off.

    Hope this helps
