Everyday headaches after Mirena IUD removal. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Posted ,
Hello all 😃
First, I would like to start off by saying that the reason why Iam writing this here is because I have searched and searched the web trying to find related topics to my issue, and I have found NOTHING related to my symptoms. I have had a Mirena IUD put in March of 2016, and I have gotten it taken out May 28, 2019. The very next day, May 29th, I got a decent headache that lasted all day, and I took a max strength tylanol and it did nothing. I figured the drop in extra hormones is what caused the headache. Went to bed and it went away when I woke up, only to return by the afternoon and last until I go to bed. Same thing the next day. The headache isnt present in the mornings, but by afternoon the headache slowly creeps on, and the bloody thing just lingers all day.
I did notice that, since removal of the Mirena IUD, the headaches arent as bad as the first day headache I mentioned. But these headaches are coming on every day now. I have read tons and tons of IUD stories on the web but it seems everyone says they experienced headaches and migraines while ON the IUD, but what about getting headaches after its been removed? Is anyone getting the headaches after you removed the IUD?
Also, let me give you some info about myself while I had my IUD in. As Ive said I had it in for a little over 3 years. I have had no issues with it until last year. I believe it was causing me some hip pain, vaginal dryness, a weird pain down my right leg, and mood swings. For awhile I thought the hip and leg pain was caused by maybe a nerve impingement. Since removal of the IUD, the hip pain and pain down my leg is completely gone, the mood swings are gone and so is the vaginal dryness 😃 So I truly believe the IUD was the cause of those issues. Also I'll ad that the Mirena IUD did not cease my periods. I have had my normal and timely period like the IUD was never there. Just throwing that out there.
But is anyone else having headaches after the IUD removal?
