Evorel sequi HRT patches

Posted , 1 user is following.

I'm in Derbyshire, UK. This morning I went to pick up my prescription for evorel sequi HRT patches, but GP had given me prescription for evorel conti (which I'm already on, and which aren't doing me any favours in regards to my anxiety attacks and weepiness!), as there is a manufacturing problem with evorel sequi at moment. I've rung 13 pharmacies and no-one has any of these patches so am now awaiting for my GP or consultant to ring me to see what else they can prescribe. After having 36 hours of hell with anxiety attacks I'm desperate for something. Is there anyone out there also having trouble getting their prescription for evorel sequi and if you can't get it what alternative is your GP giving you?

Hi pam not sure if this was your original, post, how long have you been on evorel conti? I was on evorel conti pills before 2 weeks oestrogen and then 2weeks norethisterone(progesterone) , stopped these and went to evorel sequi as the patches by pass the liver( I am not very good at metabolising drugs).   I  have only just started these along with an antidepressant low dose to relieve the crushing anxiety, if it works I'll let you know the real test will be returning to work.  It maybe worth speaking to a female GP re your concerns about anxiety to see what avenues can be explored at the end of the day it has to be the right combination for YOU!

I started evorel conti patches on 18th September, so 9 weeks last Friday. I also take 10mg of amitriptyline at night to ease my fribromyalgia. It's the anxiety attacks and weepiness that are the worst problems for me.

In March this year I had a knee operation that has been slow to recover and then menopause hit me and seemed to take over my life (and this is no exaggeration as I've never felt so ill in my life!). I'm 56 and because my employer was unable to offer me reduced hours I decided to retire, so all in all I've had alot on my plate. I've gone from a happy go lucky woman to a woman who some days can hardly function.......it's been a huge shock and has frightened the life out of me .

Hi pam, the hrt can take from 3-6 months to build up in our systems to buffer our yo yo-ing hormones.  Not much help to you but I have been assured that the anxiety (which is one of reasons I am off work now) will pass.  I try to keep myself distracted and out and about, and I imagine this may be difficult with your knee.  With regards evorel conti do you need progesterone too? As in do you still have a uterus? If you do then maybe he could prescribe oral progesterone or cream?    This will get better pam.  If your knee is not healing maybe more Physio is needed? Or a trip to the hospital pain clinic to ensure you are getting a good combination of pain relief?

It it will get better pam
