Excess mucus in back of throat. Asthma?!!!

So I’ve had mucus in back of throat for quite awhile now. It feels like it’s just stuck there and picks up my anxiety and triggers my attacks. When I try to take it forcefully I can take some out but not a lot of it and then stay a little more higher going up the throat and disturbs me even more it itches and kinda makes it harder to swallow especially with my anxiety disorder I hav with food. Can anyone tell me what this is please. Maybe allergies; I also noticed I get it more when I drink milk. I can feel it and see it come down from nose because when I put my tongue on upper part of mouth it’s all there and then drips down to throat. So can someone please help THANKSSS.

Hi Andy,
I know a couple of people where milk seems to cause more mucus. I don't have milk or wheat products for other reactions but, this time of year, pollen plays havoc with our systems too. If you have a sensitivity to pollen, milk or anything else, your system reacts to that. If you are noticing milk irritates things try eliminating it for a while to see if it helps? As i don't have milk at all, i can tell you it's in alot of things you wouldn't expect-like flavoured crisps.
Try the cider vinegar remedy Terrie mentions too to see if that helps. I don't know about globus as i don't have excessive mucus but do notice more if my system is irritated.
Good luck with finding a solution.

I think it can't be Asthma. Anyway visit to the Doc can confirm it or otherwise. My wife had similar problem. The Dr advised use of Renoclenil 100 (beclomethasone diproplonate) Nasal Spray for one month which resolved her problem.

This sounds like post-nasal drip to me. I've suffered with sinus problems for years and what I've found that helps the most is doing nasal sprays or neti pots everyday. Brands such as "Snoot!" or Nasonex have worked great for me. If you find yourself sick and feeling like your sinuses are clogged, Azelastine nasal spray is good for clearing sinuses.Talk to a doctor before taking any of these medications though.
