Excessive Appetite

Hello everyone.

I've been feeling better with my peri symptons and my gastritis /gerd has gotten much better. Thank God! Lately, I've been really hungry alot. I don't know if this is from not being able to eat much for the past few weeks because of naseau and stomach issues from gastritis. Or is it due to perimenopause or part of gastritis? I did lose alot of weight during time of appetite loss so now I am constantly hungry even after I've just eaten. The extreme hunger usually comes in the evening.

Oh wow this was me last year in the beg of starting peri.  I had no appetite at all, and lost weight.  My appetite finally did come back for awhile then about 2 months ago I lost my appetite again and would have to force myself to eat, it got to the point that I would just drink an ensure (or something like that) just so that I would have something in my system.  I should add that during this time I was dealing with gastritis also.

When I went to my accupuncturist and told him, he did something with his magic needles LOL and it has helped so much.  I have a full appetite back.  There are a few times for me here and there esp in the morning into the afternoon where Im really not that hungary but I try and eat something and esp something with protein.  Then late afternoon into the evening I get sooo hungary even if I just ate a meal etc.  I also have started to crave foods, even though I wont eat what Im craving.  I def believe that this is 100 % related to peri because that causes the gas issues and then the not eating etc.   This is whole thing still seems so strange to me.  Its still amazing how hormones affect our bodies.  I cant wait for this all to be over.   Hang in there.

So glad someone else has experienced this. Because I had started to turn to Mr. Google, lol. Im trying desperately to stay away from him because now I know that Mr. Google was contributing to my anxiety. Since I stopped visiting him my anxiety has decreased tremendously.LOL

Wow EVERYHING you described is exactly how it is for me too. Yes the morning appetite is not so great and I was dealing with naseau but that seem to have decreased a whole lot. Now it's the bloating in the morning but like you, I still eat something like a protein smoothie.

How are you doing with the gastritis now?

I'm so glad that someone else has experienced the same thing. I was about to start Mr. Google but I'm trying desperately to stay away from him. My anxiety has been so much better since I stopped using him.

Wow EVERYTHING you mentioned is exactly what I'm experiencing.

How are you now doing with the gastritis?

      I'm also considering accupunture...

I have been doing a lot better. I get some little issues here and there but nothing major. My accu guy helps with that also. I love accu. It doesn't make it all go away oh how I wish it would but it does take a lot of the edge off. Give it a try. Let me know how u are doing.

Not something to do with thyroid by any chance?

I've already had several thyroid test done and came back fine. I was thinking something to do with not being able to eat before and now " I'm hungry".🙄

My body is craving for nutrition?

I had this  last fall..  That's all I did for about a month was eat and sleep.  Hungry for anyting and everything.  I had a full panel blood work because I had no energy at all.  The tests came back all good.  I upped my vitamins and started with floor exercises just to get moving again!     I'm not losing weight now BUT I don't feel like eating too much especially in the morning I don't  have an appetite.  And when I do start feeling hungry I try for protein and veggies mostly.  So I guess these are just hormone symptoms.
