Excessive Yawning and Constant Need to Breathe Deep

Posted , 480 users are following.

For the past few days, I've been yawning a lot, much more than average (once every few minutes I feel the need). If I'm not yawning I'm breathing in as deep as I can to get similar "satisfaction". Often I cannot get the "satisfaction" from these and so the urge grows and grows, meaning it can get quite uncomfortable. When I do manage it, the urge is back a few seconds later. This is whether I'm tired or not, almost all day.

I'm not particularly anxious about anything in particular, and get the same amount of sleep as before this started.

This also happened at some point within the past year which continued for a month or two if I remember correctly.

Does anyone have any idea what it is or how to make it a bit better?

Thanks.

The medical term is dyspnea. When you cant get that deep breath. There are alot of things that can cause it.

Someone, in one of the oldest reply's in this thread said her Chiropractor found a couple pressure points in her back and was able to relieve this problem. She followed up with a couple of massage's and said she is back to normal. Just a thought.

That's crazy because when I have these issues I feel the urge to stretch my back a lot.

    Hi

I have the same issue, and it's been going on for three years now. It happens all day long and is really horrible. Sometimes, I wake up not being able to get a deep breath, but usually I am able to sleep well. I've recently been diagnosed with Addison's Disease and am wondering if anyone has heard of this/has this too, and has this constant air hunger as well? From my research, the air hunger isn't a common problem with Addison's but it is symptom. But it's an all-day ordeal for me despite being on treatment. I hate being out in public because I am always gasping for air. I have other symptoms too like feeling faint and tired all the time. I am 26 year old female.

    Thanks for any input/ideas!

I’m sorry to hear, must be pretty distressing. I got a really bad cold and developed this problem also for a few months.  I was able to relieve this by a few methods.  1.  chiropractor and massage. 2.  Cordyceps which is a wild mushroom and Respiractin for lung support. 3. Deep breathing techniques. I got these from a health food store.  I’m not a doctor or any medical professional or advertiser. Just my own opinion and things I’ve tired myself. I’m doing better and I hope you will do some research and find what works for you. Hope you get better.

Did you buy raw Cordyceps or an extract? Do you suggest the powdered version?

I used the extract, 400 mg. Was easier to take as I was drinking the respriactin  like a hot drink at the same time. But I’m a fan of the various powder versions also. Mushroom extracts are great for various aliments.

What is respriactin? Do you have a link to buy it? I use amazon. Thanks.

It’s a Natural liquid with many herbs that are beneficial to lung support. I get it at the  heath Food store and you make a hot drink out of it. Taste good. You can probably look online.

I checked and the do have it on Amazon. I get the breath easy liquid.

Ok thank you. What about the Cordyceps. Which product do you use?

Yes I did. I typically will do 3 to 6 month regime when I’m targeting a certain problem.

There's something very comforting about seeing hundreds of people who seem to be experiencing the same thing - even if there's no consensus on the cause/cure - and particularly since most doctors don't seem to understand what we're experiencing. This might not apply to everyone, but I am on several different medications and have often wondered if this might be a SIDE EFFECT of one. With so many of us here, any interest in volunteering what meds we're all on (just in case we somehow notice "holy $h*t - 75% of us are taking xxxxxxxx - maybe that's the cause!"wink

I'll start... at different times I've been taking Adderall, Ambien, Bupropion, Allegra.. and MCT oil and Fish oil. (No judgment please - just looking for potential common threads among us)

I agree and it also helps us put our heads together to help one another when possible.

I have no on medication at all when this happen... I am on Omephazol that reduce acid, but it's doesn't help... it's caused side effect to me like heart beat fast at sometimes, panic attack etc

Just saw the  pulmonary specialist today. Had my  artery  blood tested and that came out good but my lungs during the breathing test was only at 68% I was given a steroid inhaler and told to use twice in the morning twice at night for four weeks and then go from there doing some more testing after the four weeks is up hopefully this clears me up and that’s all I will need is a boost to clear out all the phlegm in my lungs that’s best case.  I will keep you guys posted tho.

We need an easier site or FaceBook Page. Do you guys want me to setup a FaceBook Page? Then we can put pics, Video, and it will be easier. I have a tough time using this site.

There is a Facebook pages Constantly needing to take a deep breath

I try and get through the day as long as I can but it eventually gets me. Excessive yawning starts then pressure in chest area. Then it’s like breathing through a straw... that’s when I’m forced to medicate myself with klonopin 1-1.5 mg by chewing them for faster relief! They must slow down my O2 intake and problem alleviates after 20 min. Problem that follows is you’re useless cause you are not tired. Repetive cycle ; every day is ground hog day...

Another idea to try is Cryotherapy. Might work and is great for the body.

Yeah 68% is not good. Steroids are a good idea, short term. Should help. Keep us posted.

      Thanks for letting us know.

What does the Klonopin do to you? And why do you say it makes you useless? Does it total cure your breathing issues?

It makes you very tired... it does help with the breathing issues though. But, you won’t have a productive day that’s for sure.  That’s how I know anxiety it theory culprit here! To bad there is no solution other then benzodiazepines ....
