Excited about new found ability

Posted , 12 users are following.

Ok so a small thing . I was doing some pt exercises today.I was sitting in a chair with arms as recommended . I was able to stand from sitting without using the chair arms . I know that does not sound like much but I lost the ability to do that over a year ago . Small progress but felt awesome .

That's not small progress at all. It's great progress. I remember when I did it the first time, I felt just like you. Having the strength to do this and without any pain is undoubtedly a sign that your are well on the way to recovery.

One of my workmates just had a double knee replacement done. I have been using a pretty cloth bag on my walker to carry things from 1 room to another. I am going to give it to her as I am looking forward ,not back . It made life much easier . I have a 2nd one which I can use but did not like because it tended to swing and hit my knee. My knee is healed up and I honestly don't plan on using this walker for hopefully more than another week . might as well help a friend .
