I, yesterdayout four I was relased from the London Royal Hospital where I was admited after few days taking antibiotics because an abscess the size of a potato. The antibiotics dindn't reduced the swelling, it even got worse and the pain was so bad that sometimes I would have killed myself to end the torture. Pain killers ,ie Ibuprofen, Paracodol didn't do a thing, so on the third day I went to the LRH, were after I was seen I was inmediatelly admited to a ward and put on intravenous antibiotics. By now I haven't been able to sleep for four days, five after the night spend at LRH, because of the pain they put me into Oramorph every four hours, this just helped from beign insane to just beign miserable. Yesterday, I had the tooh extracted, I was put on an extra strong course of antibiotics as the swelling is gone fronm the gum to the skin, hear, tonsil, neck. Last night I was able to sleep about four hours but wake up in agony. I'll try the hot water with salt and if by tomorrow tings do not get better I will go back to LRH, the thing that I can not understant is why Doctor don't prescribe stronger pain killers, it is only an abscess I was told, but I have never experience pain on that intensity, I don't wish illl on other people but this time I would have love for him to experience the level of pain I was in and multiply by five days!

Ooh Manuel, I can almost feel your pain sad

You really have had a rough time of it!

Hopefully the pain should begin to subside now the wretched tooth has been extracted, but in view of the size of the area affected it is going to take time. Keep on with that warm salty mouthwashes and hopefully you will soon get some relief.

    Good luck

    You poor soul!!

Been there! Would rather give birth to an elephant than go through that pain again.

Ask ur doctor for Diclofenac. Make sure u eat something at least 20 minutes before u take them. The worked wonders for me.

    Good Luck
