About 3 days ago I had a bump on my vagina. I didnt think much of it because I have had Bartholin's cysts before. they are uncomfortable but they usually rupture in a couple days and everything is back to normal. well the next day i noticed some swelling and it burned when i peed. so i thought i had a uti. i made a doctors appointment and got some OTC pills to hold me over. at the doctor, she told me i had some spots that looked like razor burn and some that look like herpes and she swabbed me. i stopped taking the OTC UTI pills right before the doctor. imageive been researching non stop and i just dont think it looks like herpes. the sores are not blister like at all. they are not puss filled. i have no flu like symptoms or fever. the doc gave me valtrax till my results but it hasnt helped at all. in fact the pain has gotten MUCH worse. its unbearable. could this be something else??

yes! turns out i had a uti AND a yeast infection. i also had herpes type 1 (so the cold sore type). im just so mad because my doctor just assumed it was genital herpes...i had to call back 3 days later still in so much pain to find out i had a UTI. then today i got the lab results and i had a really bad yeast infection. never had either, then had both at the same time 

Ah yes, I was going to mention yeast infection since I've gotten sores/cuts with one that I had awhile ago- worst pain of my life! Doctor said it looked like a really bad diaper rash. I literally had to ice that area! Ive had my bad experiences with doctors, since herpes looks different for everyone they see a small sore and automatically assume. I hope you feel better!
