Hiya Guys...😁
Haven't been around the forum for a while now, hope all is good and all you new hippies are getting on fine...
just wanted to ask ya all, exercise bikes have ya been on them to aid your recovery etc. Just been thinking of getting one, and wondered how others had got on with them, I know its good to get out and about. just thought bad weather and all might be good to have something at home to help my recovery / fitness level 🤔😊
Thanks Guys in advance for your input..

Hi Pete,
Glad all is slow but sure in getting well.
Bikes. Really no strong feelings here. I always check with the PT at my gym b4 any new exercise regime.
Some folk find bikes good, others less so. For me a few 5min urban park rides were fun and confidence building too.
Encourage a good overall regime with or without bikes
Warm regards

Hi Pete,
I think it would be a great idea to get an exercise bike especially useful if pouring with rain. I have an elliptical walker which gives me a better workout. I started reusing mine at week ten.

At the gym, I use a recumbant bike, the seat is kinder as it is flat.

Glad you are getting on well Pete. I was told that cycling was fine, and I was back on my ordinary bike at about 8 weeks. It felt so comfortable compared with cycling pre op!
I would imagine that an exercise bike would be really good, especially in this weather..... Maybe check first?
All the best, Judith

Try a drop in at a local gym. Try both the bike and an elliptical trainer. I use the elliptical all the time when I am not out walking that day because it exercises the hip and pretty well the whole leg and, depending on how you set it, you get in an aerobic workout to boot - which you generally do not get just walking.

I found cycling really uncomfortable since my 3 hips, although i was a cyclist before the ops, following accidents and a revision. But i am comfortable using an electric treadmill, so bought one for home. Maybe try a gym to see what equipment is comfortable for you ?. All the best in your recovery

I'll highly suggest you hire one for a test and if you're comfortable with it, then by all means buy one for yourself.
