Exercise/walking with Plaster cast on broken foot

Hi i broke my 5th mt bone last week and today I started standing on it.. is there a limit to walking around on my plaster cast with a special sandal covering the cast ? I understand it is good for blood and muscles to move so can I stand/walk as much as I want? Can I damage my foot with excess exercise?

Hi Adrienne!! I wouldn't overdue it, I would first ask your doctor, but also your foot will tell you when it's time to rest it and elevate, as far as exercise I suggest sit ups, leg lifts, some time on exercise bike, good luck!

If I were you I call my Dr or the nurse to find out the correct infomation. I had a fifth metatarsal fracture and when I didn't know what to do I would talk to the Nurse at the Ortho Dr they were very glad to help answer any questions that need an answer .this way I  felt safe in what to do .next . Hope this helps
