Exercises after Total Hip surgery

How long after the op are we meant to continue with them.

I am at 9 weeks now, do we continue for 6 months plus or is it a lifetime thing to keep the hip and soft tissues in good condition?

I am also 9 weeks from surgery and I was wondering the same thing. Just finished 4 weeks of physical therapy. He told me to do them 3 or 4 times a week and slowly incorporate my pre-surgery exercises like treadmill, stationery bike, etc. I personally think that is a good idea to continue the hip exercises. I saw online an orthopedic surgeon saying you should continue them for life. But whatever works for each individual's routine and life and more importantly, what makes you feel good.

      thanks Nancy.

think I will do just that. My main thing is swimming but in the UK covid has put a stop to that. Maybe more walking for me alongside the other stuff.

I was told to continue the exercises for at least 18 months.

I've enjoyed a 10-mile hike in mountainous country today, after 20 months. I will be continuing doing my hip exercises for a while - maybe for life! What's to lose?

Also, what about the seat height cushion, loo seat heightener etc...is this still needed for a few more weeks?
