exercises for weak hip

Hi, can anyone suggest the best exercises to strengthen my right hip (replacement) because after 3 months I'm still walking with a limp, in fact I can't walk without a stick as I'm very 'lop-sided'! I'm doing the exercises given by the physio and can manage stairs, standing & sitting but have not tried driving yet. Would appreciate any exercises others have found useful/helpful in getting the hip back to as normal as possible so I can walk reasonably without a stick at least around the house! Thanks.

Has anyone tried an exercise bike or one of those little foot ones you can get, after a THR? I have a little foot one under the bed but not sure if I should use it or not? Still limping without a stick but ok otherwise! thanksĀ

I tried one of those recumbent exercise bikes but couldnt manage it so bought a cross trainer bike thing with a seat and its really good....just take it easy and you can tell right away if its OK for your hip.....i also bought a step thing and try to do 2 lots of 100 a day....I just keep it behind the sofa and do it while watching TV....sounds a bit weird now I've said it!Lol!
