I have have a underactive thyroid for about 3 years now. I have been on 100 levothyroxine untill recently i have been put up to 125. Is this a high dose? I have always been tired but recently i am exgausted all the time!! I have had to drop shifts in work adding to financial stress, and if someone tells me to "just get up and do it, you will feel better" or "have you tried the gym?" Or even "sleeping that much for a young girl is not normal" i might just burst out crying!! The doctors keep saying once we have your meds balanced you should lead a normal life. I dont find this is true though even when levels are balamced. Does anyone elae feel.like this?

Hi Claire I was on 125mg of Levothyroine and felt so much better. I have recently been reduced to 100mg again as my levels went the other way, hang on in there I no it is tough some times. I have been exhausted this week since lowering my dose I have my bloods done again in eight weeks. I do go to the gym and feel it does help I walk alot with my dogs and the excersise does help, once your bloods are balanced you should be feeling alot better good luck.

You are not alone with this problem. Some people do better on the natural desiccated thyroid. Neve you been to see an endocrinologist?

No i haven't. I feel like because my levels are "normal" the doctors dont seem to be taking me serious and try to palm it off as depression. Its so annoying!

I get you. Some days no energy and very tired. Being retired it is easier .Naps are important.Working I imagine must be a struggle. My doctor is still trying different doses.I have blood test every three months.Gone from 25 to 50 back to 25.Now back to 50.I see him next week and am talking to him to go to a specialist. My friend had half of her out a few years back, takes a low dose now and feels great. Not sure if it is good for everyone but do want to talk.Hope things get better for you.
