Exhaustion and Venlafaxine

I have been taking Venlafaxine for 5 weeks prescribed for severe anxiety. Its has improved by mood and reduce my anxiety but I am feeling fatigued and drowsy all the time. In peoples experience does this side effect resolve? should i be on a lower dose. should i switch to a different medication. I have been on Citalopram before but had terrible side effects my severe anxiety got worse could not sleep at night and was having more panic attacks. I cant function like this and I need to go back to work but cant see how I can if I am drowsy.
