Experience with D Ribose

I was recently reading a book on cfs showing studies where patients had been taking D ribose and it had significant benefits with regards to energy levels.
I am wary of supplements as they are expensive and I am yet to find any that have made any difference so far, but keen to know if anyone else has taken them with any success?

I would like to know the same thing. I've read that you shouldn't take dribbose if you have low blood sugar or low blood pressure. I can't remember which. But I have both and I've had too many experiences where taking something makes my symptoms much worse. That comes with the hypersensitivity that many of us have.

Yes I agree it's such a minefield with supplements which have the potential to worsen symptoms as well as improve. I'm going to give it a chance I think and see what happens!!

Thanks Joanne I'll give it a try! at this point in time I'm not expecting any miracle cures but anything that helps even a little bit is welcome!

I have found this to be helpful in maintaining energy levels and if I stop taking it then within about three days I am reduced to crawling around my house.
My GP says if it helps then why not take it (I suppose she's thinking placebo affect).
If you Google for research then I believe there has been at least one NIH paper which reports am improvement in people with ME/fibromyalgia.

Thanks sue that's really good to hear. Seems to be a lot of evidence saying it's helpful
