Experiencing dilated pupils from antidepressants, should I stop?

Posted , 4 users are following.

I took my first antidepressant yesterday morning (20mg of citalopram) and one of the side effects I'm experiencing is dilated pupils. I also have a weird headache, like a pressure above my eyebrows and temples and my eyes feel a bit weird - I think they're sensitive to the light.

I can't go out with my eyes looking like this, they're still big this morning!

Is this normal? Will it go away? I don't know if I should carry on taking them or stop??

many medications cause dilated pupils. I would recommend that you ask your doctor or call a pharmacist to see what they have to say about it. the doctor may adjust the dosage or not do anything at all. its a common reaction to certain meds.

ask your chemist or doctor if these are usual reactions
