so i was admitted to hospital last night with constant PVCs (extra heart beat) every 20 30 seconds i feel a thud and a fluttery feeling, it showed up as PVCs, 2 quick heartbeats a long pause and then a thud and a flutter feeling, it seems to be happening more when im stressed like when i was falling asleep i didnt really notice it and now im fully awake panicking i feel them every 10 to 20 beats its so distressing, in hospital they did a ecg which showed a PVC and a pause, im 22 year old male, my BP is usually anywhere from 120-140 over 80-90 but when i first got told i had to go hospital on my own (i suffer with agoraphobia and anxietywhen alone) my BP was 169/111 and when i got to hospital it was 146/96, they did blood tests and nothing abnormal apparently but surely having several PVCs a minute isnt normal? has anyone ever experienced this with anxiety? if so how often do you feel a PVC and how long do the episodes last??

so what exactly did they tell you before you left the hospital?

I know your testing was normal and that is a huge plus.

Anxiety can definitely cause PVCs to occur as often as you are getting them. Millions of people have this happen when they have underlying anxiety. I at one point was getting them every 10 beats. All day every day. That is normally when I am especially anxious. . I am very healthy, my heart is strong and everything checks out great. PVCs are common with anxiety. I have had them on and off for many years, so they don’t scare me anymore when I get them.

. It doesn’t sound like your doctor is too concerned and I’m sure they see this all the time. When you are anxious about this, you will get them more often. If you keep focusing on it it will keep happening.

It sounds like your anxiety is causing the PVCs as well as the high blood pressure .

i know how scary it can feel when you have them but your doctor would have done more testing if he or she found something concerning.

to me, the high blood pressure is more concerning than the PVCs. Do you normally have high blood pressure or did it just go up because you went to the hospital? you might want to check your blood pressure when you get high anxiety. Let your doctor know if it’s 140/90 or higher. But you don’t have to check it every 15 minutes like some people do.

starting Now, make it a point to relax your mind so that the PVCs will settle down and the blood pressure will come down. , .

keep you are so busy to focus on something else. Anything else except thinking about this all the time.

There are some great calming meditations on YouTube for anxiety that really help a lot!

Also you should learn proper breathing with anxiety to relax the PVCs and help bring down blood pressure. those are also on YouTube.

another thing to remember is that the general anxiety you have can be managed better so that you don’t have these symptoms. Consider speaking with a counselor or therapist about what might be causing the anxiety. helped me a lot!

yoy Will be OK. The main thing is number one, settling down your mind and body and secondly getting help with your anxiety management. Take care of your health, eat healthy . Get some exercise to burn off some of the anxiety. It will relax you more. Take care! ❤

my BP is normally on the side of high normal, but its never been that high, but i was under high stress because ive never been to docs or hospital alone and i had to due to this coronavirus so family couldnt come for comfort, it came down abit when i was actually there it was at its highest when i was getting tested at home and them telling me i had to go hospital, The PVCs are really scary i am getting a fair few a minute for just over 24hours, some minutes i get like 10pvcs and on a good minute i get like 2, honestly does seem to be worse when im thinking about it and or stressed, but its just terrifying i hate the feeling and cant get it out of my head because even if i do temporarily forget about it one pvc will happen and will bring the worry back, the paramedics did 2 15 second ecgs at my house and caught 3 PVCs

i feel for you and i have nothing useful to add. i have not had an extra heart beat that i know of. what did the doctor say at the hospital? if they let you out, it would suggest that they didnt find it life threatening. you must have a psychiatrist for your anxiety or perhaps therapist? these are the experts on these matters and can probably help you a lot more than i can. i would try to relax. try to not read too much into it. talk to a therapist or psychiatrist about relaxation techniques and possibly meds to help you.
