I've been on fluoxetine for 5 weeks (3 weeks on 10 mg, 2 weeks on 20 mg). Over the past few days I've noticed my ears occasionally ringing. Starting yesterday, it's been almost constant. I've never experienced this before. Has anyone else had this side effect? Did it go away for you?

i started experiencing ear ringing around day 4 and it was pretty bad for a week or so. that level of intensity did improve but overall I still have occasional ringing. i am on week 11.
from what i understand, this is a pretty rare side effect. for some it can go away, for others it may stay. honestly, it is so occasional now for me that I just deal with it. i still have a weird full feeling in my ears and white noise when it is silent . I occasionally worry about this long term but for the most part I don't worry about it. i also had jaw clenching with it which went away eventually.
i would give it a little bit then maybe talk to your doctor about switching to a med that isnt a ototoxic drug. (meds that cause ear ringing). if it doesn't go away. good luck!
