Extensor tendon injured on right hand, can i fully recover movement?

4 years ago i hurt my wrist by punching something out of frustration. After alot of research i discovered that my extensor tendon was damaged in some way. This was my “diagnosis” after not being able to extend my pinky finger (where the injury is) followed by swelling. The swelling wnet down over time however i have never regained my full range of motion. It is important to note that i didnt get this treated by a doctor (for X reasons)  but im finally determined to sort it out. Now i have ended up injuring my hand again except this time i have slight pins and needles in the area and there is a small amount of pain when i firmly squeeze a part of my hand that is slightly above the wrist and behind my pinky. Bottom line is will i be able to have a full recovery without surgery?

*I have an “extra” tendon in my wrist as well so will i get a full recovery if i “use” that tendon as a replacement via surgery?

No answers to the main question. I just had wrist surgery last Thursday and I believe I will get full use. I had a torn/ruptured tendon in my left wrist. I had major shoulder surgery last year, the wrist surgery is a walk in the park compared to that.
