Extensor tendon Post op questions .

So i had surgery on my extensor tendon to my big toe 4 days ago . They put me in a huge cam walker . It is killing me to the point now my calf is bruising and i am having muscles spasm's it doesn't lay flat in any kind of way and stretches my muscles out from upper thigh down to my calf . Is this normal so high up my leg for a extensor tendon n the foot . Everything ive read says the walker should be given after about 2 weeks when the stitches come out is this true and can having this thing so soon cause more damage ? It pulls on my foot constantly as well drags it down to the left or right and with the pain in my calf now i cant hardly lift or move it .
