External fixator frustration

Hi,

Need to let off steam. I fell in the snow 28th Feb 2018 and ended up with a spiral fracture plus a couple more breaks on my rib and about 3 breaks in my fibula. Developed Acute Campartment Syndrome that night so sent down in the middle of the night tobe cut open to relieve pressure and prevent me loosing my leg/foot.Finally had breaks secured by external fixator a week later. Just been to the fracture clinic today hoping to get a date for removal to be told to come back in 4 more weeks (it’s already been 4 months!) for another X-ray with no promises I’ll get a date then either. Totally gutted, fed up and depressed and feeling very sorry for myself! 🙁 Last night no sleep as pain for some reason was really bad and electric shocks shooting down my leg set my foot off doing the samba - not best impressed! Would not wish this on my worst enemy!

Poor you. That must be awful, especially in the heat. I do hope you make some progress soon. I spent all last summer in pain from a femur injury and you have my complete sympathy. Feel free to let off steam!

    Dear sassbats31,

Hang in there. The darkest hour is just before the dawn. And joy will come in the morning.
