External Pile for 2 months

Hi all
Two months ago i had bad diarrheoa due to stress and anxiety every day for weeks. it caused a tear that bled which doctors say is an external pile. Its like a fissure and a large skin tag thats formed over the top of it (like stretched skin) and its doing my head in.
Ive been given steroid cream and suppositories which i use and help the pain but this pile/skin wont go or reduce down.
Doctor said its early days- is it just a case of carry on using the cream and suppositories for longer? I just cant see how the large skin is going to go itself!
Any help/advice would be appreciated,
Thanks

Liz, unfortunately there is no set duration for internal or external hemorrhoid healing. Quite honestly, my latest flare-up started at the beginning of March was exasperated mid March and continued on until the beginning of February when symptoms started to subside. There are quite a bit of factors that will contribute to your healing process. Fiber soluble and insoluble and lots of water. also any training whatsoever will just inflame the veins and prolong the healing process. unfortunately when you do have internal hemorrhoids along with external because they can be combined the fullness feeling you have to resist the urge to push. that will only engorge both internal and external hemorrhoids. Bear mind only 4% of the population actually see treatment for hemorrhoids. Embarrassed, and anxiousness are unfortunately apart of less than pleasant body parts to openly talk about. So any straining what so ever will just prolong the healing process. In my experience the "healing" part wont take place until the root of the issue is addressed. ie... straining, constipation, fluid intake, diet all will play a part. Some flare ups can last 1-2 months or MORE if chronic. Swollen external hemorrhoids can take over 2 months to heal. The mucosa around and in the anus is sensitive and can look and feel inflamed for some time. When all else fails ,go to the Dr or a colorectal Dr. Easier said than done🤪

Was just reading your reply.. your last flare up lasted 11 months? Oh man that makes me want to cry. I've had a nasty internal hem flare up for 1 1/2 months that's driving me nuts. Hopefully we all start feeling better soon.

Hello,
ive tried everything to get it to reduce down in size but it wont go. Ive been using cream given to me by the doctor for about 2 months now but doesnt seem to make any difference. The pain goes but the pile does not reduce in size and go.
Dont know what else i can do to help it go....

Unfortunately the flare up is just the first part. After this comes the healing,or so we hope. Unfortunately each time you use the toilet, you run the risk of irritating. Trust everyone has probably used every method to help themselves. I do know the swelling will take longer, than the pain to subsided. I just read this article suggesting Blackstrap molasses. 2 tbsp a day.

Yeah just as it gets better it then gets worse when go to the toilet!
Can you have the pile removed?

Hi Liz, has your hemorrhoid issue gotten any better? I'm still dealing with some swelling from my internal piles, just hit the 2 month mark. 😦
