Extrasystoles (ectopic beats)

I was 13 years old when I got my first round of extrasystoles. I remember the long drive to hospital and a terrified mom next to me as nobody knew what they were. After many tests doctors told me I was fine and that they will go away. Since then I've had them occasionally, maybe once a month. I'm a healthy person without any other health condition so I tried not to worry too much.
Last year, in November, the ectopic beats came back and they stayed. Every other heart beat is an ectopic beat and even worse, they now come in groups (3-4 and even 5 extrasystoles together). After one month suffering I decided to visit a private cardiologist as the public health system makes you wait a whole year and I was too worried. He did all sorts of tests and discovered a small prolapse of the mitral valve but he said it was insignificant and that the extrasystoles are not dangerous at all. It's almost June and nothing has changed. They are with me the 24 hours of the day, in groups, or isolated, constantly and if I am lucky, they go away for half a day. I have beta-blockers at home but my blood pressure is very low (100/60) so I'm afraid to take them.
Is anybody else having the same issues? Do they ever go away? I'm 42 and otherwise healthy, sporty, with a healthy BMI.

Insignificant is a big medical word, and very nice to hear.
