Extreme Fatigue

Posted , 4 users are following.

I am a 31 year old male, 5’5”, 120 lbs.

I’ve had very low energy levels for the last ten years. It has kept me from doing things that I want to do and has contributed to depression. Thinking that it was depression that was the cause, I have been put on 12 different antidepressants and antipsychotics, years of therapy, and I had ketamine and TMS treatments. Nothing seemed to help at all. The only medication that has helped me is Adderall. Exercise doesn’t help. I picked up running and ran at least three times a week for a mile over a three month period. I slowly decreased the amount I ran over the next few months after that when it wasn’t helping. I changed my diet, eating fewer carbs, sugars, and processed foods while eating more greens. I was tested for sleep apnea and was diagnosed with mild obstructive apnea. I wear a mouth appliance every night for that. I usually wake up 2-3 times per night but always get 8 hours of sleep in. Get less than 8, I’m a complete zombie.

I have recently had done:

CBC

Comprehensive metabolic panel

T4, Free

Testosterone total

TSH

All tests came back normal. I take omega-3 fish oil, vitamin D, and a multivitamin everyday.

I feel like this has taken away a huge chunk of my life and I am determined to get it back. I just need to find the cause.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

Have you checked your iron levels? And Vitamin B levels? These may be test that you have to get on your own outside of your doctor if you are able. That’s what I did, as the doctors will only order test based on what they think and if they don’t agree with you then your stuck not finding out. You should have your vitamin D, all the B's specifically B 12, B6, and B1 checked, Niacin. I know someone who was depressed, and always tired, I shared with him to take a vitamin B complex with all the B's consistantly and in 2 weeks he said he felt like a new person. Puritan's Pride Mega B-Complex 100 is what he took. You can find them online from directly from the company. But I'm sure there are others that work as well.

Also, how is your blood pressure, have you checked to see if it could possibly be too high or even too low? Low iron, and vitamin deficiencies can cause fatigue like you describe. I would also look into seeing a naturalpathic doctor or a homeopathic doctor in your area. I know folks that have had a lot of success seeing someone like that. They usually check you for high heavy-metal toxicity, not sure if you have amalgam filling’s that are old from years ago. I know someone who did, they had them removed and felt a lot better. Hope this helps!

My hemoglobin and my hematocrit levels were both in the normal range so I don't suspect an iron deficiency. Plus at one point I tried taking iron supplements and didn't have any success.

I have also tried vitamin B complexes, without success.

My blood pressure used to be a little on the high side and was put on clonidine for that but after improving my diet and losing weight, it's back in the normal range.
