Extreme foot pain 2 years after THR

Can anyone please give me some useful advice? I'm a 50yr female who had a THR on my right hip 2 yrs ago. Recently I am experiencing extreme pain when walking in the sole of my right foot (It feels like there's no shock absorber, in the sole of that foot, so to speak)

Could be plantarfaciatitis. As we age the fat pads in our feet wear, and arches begin to fall causing stress on feet. Also shoes will soft insole and good arches also a big help. Your pediatrist can Xray your feet for diagnosis. Not really a thr issue.

I had plantar facia titis and fallen arches with fatty pads gone. It is time that will help and good shoes with arch support.

Hi I'm 63 and woke up one am .was like walking on glass.in.1 foot .so painful.im very flat footed and tried to find out from I net best way to get rid of .basically it's a tendon that stretches all way along your foot base.lots of recommendations to sit and roll tennis ball underfoot to stretch the plantir which I did .

Took a long-time to go but just woke m one day and was gone .apparently that's what happens and I never want it again .use the arch supports as well .good luck .

    Hello Maria,

it might be that your hips, legs aren’t the same length you should maybe think about seeing a podiatrist to measure and prescribe insoles.

It could easily be plantar fasciitis and nothing to do with your hip. Get it checked out

Hi Maria, I have the same after 2 years. Pain is in my left foot although it was the right hip that was replaced. I have tried various inner soles but none work - like you I need a solution??

    Regards

    Jean

Have you seen a podiatrist? Perhaps ask your doctor for a referral.

As has been said, probably plantar fasciitis, maybe brought on by walking badly  before and even after the THR.

I had it before my THR due to my bad walking gait.

Hi Maria, I've just had a thr on m right leg, but prior to the op my left foot had become really painful when walking, especially the ball of the foot. I put it down to the possible fact that I was putting more strain on this foot because of the pain in my right hip. Still on crutches now, but my operated foot seems to be ok apart from the fact that my toes are really cold all the time!! Who knows - this might rectify itself in time. Good luck anyway -

Hope you get it sorted! 😐
