hi im 46 in peri had awful digestive issues for 9 months now, bloating, rushing to the loo on waking very loose/smelly, no appetite, slight weight lose, nausea, acid reflux, doc says ibs but im sure its linked to hormones. been tested for h pylori, bowel cancer both clear now waiting for a ct scan of pelvis & abdomen because the pain can be so bad left side under ribs & back ache like burning x

i had endoscopy, i showed gastritis and mild erosive gastritis, i have all the symptoms you mentioned for over a year (my stomach was fine before) i had the scans youre having and all that showed up were fibroids. do you get post nasal drip at all and dry mouth? x

hey! it's Sands again. I'm being tested for bowel cancer this week and have been referred for scan too...hoping its all positive. My bowels are all over the place. I got pain on my lower right handside hence being tested for it.

      so stressful

hi! omg really its all so stressful my health anxiety is through the roof which in turn upsets my tummy even more! doc said it would be 6/8 weeks for my scan as she doesnt think its urgent, please let me know how you get on with your tests fingers crossed its all hormone related x

I definitely will do. My Dr has put everything as urgent! I saw her on Thursday. Had full bloods done yesterday. I'm on my period so have to do my bowels sample ASAP. Then got a scan booked in for Friday so everything within a week.

On top of this my nausea has come back, heavy periods and horrendous headaches!!!!

      arrrghhhhh hate being me 😞

ive had those scans, infact ive had over 20 different scans, i also had endoscopy whilst awake with 22 biopsies, and deep breast tissue biopsy, so its not just you trust me x

seems like we all end up having similar tests! imagine a world where doctors understood this! i get breathless and itchy from smells, and dont get me started on food allergies x

i understand dear..after 45 i think our life will be spent for scan, x-ray along with sufferings

thanks for your reply. It's just so horrible 😞 I don't want to always put it down to peri just incase their is something serious going on.

I feel like I have a new symptom every month!

ah bless you. Me too ive lost weight! I think my DR has put it as urgent as all your organs are on your right handside.

I love my DR it makes a massive difference to my perimenopause. She listens. I've been through at least 6 other Drs all gave me antidepressants.

i know what you mean, i had a year of tests, my pain is always worse on my right side.

I wish they had a perimenopause clinic so we can have all the tests and be stress free!! That it's perimenopause and then give us advice on how to best manage it! It would be a happier place for us women and our poor partners and family!

couldnt agree more, but we know more about this than them, im thinking when this is over or when my brain functions properly again of opening a u tube channel or blog about all this, i was told for over a year that it was all anxiety, and the docs thought the night sweats were a tumour, had to do a 24 urine test, they are clueless, id say message me if you need to talk but that function is no longer available on here for some reason x

yes me too. Dr wants to rule out bowel cancer due to my on going stomach issues! have you had a colonscopy?

    • Posted

this forum and messaging you ladies have literally saved me. I was losing the will to live!

I have weeks of feeling OK. Then I'm all over the place with nausea, headaches, major brain fog! Major mood swings and uncontrollable 😢

How can someone ever feel like this. Hormones are dangerous

i know, im only having about a day a month were i feel a little better, my cycle is now every 21 days, and i have a histamine problem now 😦

    • Posted

you can rule out bowel cancer via a stool sample thats what gastro had me do before endoscopy x

horrible isnt it, and they have gone really strange too as i used to get cramps before period but now im getting them 4 days in, and no longer start light nope its heavy heavy heavy x

me too! no warning signs they just come full on!!!

I don't want the coil as I'm already dealing with peri!!!! I won't be able to handle the side effects!

    • Posted

i have the copper coil its useless but tried mirena 10 years ago for heavy periods and was allergic x

same here..i do wonder sometimes whether my sufferings are related to peri or something else..but after coming here & reading all the comments i am getting a kind of satisfaction thinking my problems are related to peri only

    • Edited

This was my first symptom 3 years ago. I was bed ridden! I haven't had a headache like this since last October.

I'm getting used to them! It doesn't help after having the COVID jab! I was really ill for 2 days and now this!

The last 3 years has been horrible I've been in and out of DRs and hospital appointments!

I don't want to assume its peri all the time so always get yourself checked out just to be sure.

how to get tested, cannot go out..it is lockdown here in india..no doctor is free, all hospitals are full with covid patients..whatever the problem, i have to take care at home only

      hi Toria,

I had a call from the DR today and CA125 are abnormal. So I've been fast tracked to get CT scan to rule out ovarian cancer. My anxiety is through the roof. My CA125 were normal in October and scan was clear a year ago.

I'm just so worried as DR is concerned about the pain on right handside. I did say I did my bloods on day two of my period can that raise it?

Dr wants to rule it out. Have you experienced this with your pain?

    • Posted

please please try not to stress too much, a lot of things can cause it to be raised, your period, fibroids, endometriosis, i have fibroids and i only found that out because i had a scan that gastro ordered, id had pain for months, was told scan was normal until i questioned doctor further and she said well you do have fibroids (that was news to me) x

    • Posted

apparently according to google ca125 can be 22% higher during your period, sending hugs x

    • Posted

thanks Toria. I'm trying to remain strong. on top of this waiting to do my bowel test waiting for my periods to finish

no worries, anytime, it could also be a simple cyst, i remember when i was rush through to gastro they said possible throat cancer, and breast clinic possible breast cancer, we have to be here for each other x

im the same lovely, i had my period, it finished on the 28th, thought i would calm down but literally havent had a break, if anything everything is worse, and now im burning up and boobs are so sore, do you ever notice every period you have the same symptoms but a few different one added in each month? like no 2 periods are the same, this one feels like a year ago when this all started, and my body is so sore 😦 x
