Extreme groin pain after dislocation of THR

I had a TLHR on January 28, 2017 with HUGE success! I was only 41 at the time of the surgery...I was pain free and walking without assistance within a month and a half of the surgery. My doctor and therapist were ecstatic at how quickly I bounced back and healed. Fast forward to January 9, 2018...I fell on my icy driveway and dislocated my THR! It took 3 doctors and 2 facilities to be able to put it back in because my muscles were so tight (my doc told my husband that is a good thing...doesn't appear to be anymore though!?!?).
Three weeks later, I was out walking and it partially popped out, stopping me in my tracks. Within 30 secs, it popped itself back in. This happened on 2 other occasions while I was walking. At my one month after dislocation appointment, my doctor took x-rays and said everything looked good. When I told him about the partial dislocations, he told me my strides were too big, so I became conscientious about how I was walking. It happened one more time after that while I was walking about 2 months later (3 months post dislocation).
A few weeks ago (approx. 4 months post dislocation), I was standing talking with my husband, with all of my weight on my left leg. I mentally told myself I should not stand like that, but did anyway , and alas, it popped out again!
Today (almost 5 months post dislocation), I started getting EXTREME groin pain on the left side. Has anyone else had a similar experience with the same symptoms and if so, did you find out what the groin pain is from approximately 5 months post dislocation?

I have to get my right hip done also...was scheduled for end of Jan 2018. Well, I blew that out of the water when I dislocated my THP the beginning of Jan! Now I’m not even thinking about getting the other one done until I get this one stabilized and under control!
Please try to keep me posted on your issue.

Oh wow that sounds absolutely awful, my physio told me any groin pain is an issue with the hip and other pain anywhere else is muscle issues. Part of my physio exercise is to start leaning all my weight on my op side as far as I know this should be a perfectly normal thing to do.. This isn't fair on you and your quality of life I'd be constantly worried.. How did it dislocate if the muscles were so strong? X

Wow! How scary this seems. Sorry for what you're going through. It really seems to me that something is not right with your hip replacement. You might want to get a second opinion from a different doctor. This in no way sounds normal to me. Good luck!

Yeah, iliopsoas tendonitis, maybe ripped your psoas muscle.
"When I fell, my knee was bent with my leg at a 90 degree angle out to the side"
That will do it alright.
When you go to your doctor ask him/her to palpitate your psoas muscle, if that's it, when he presses down on your psoas muscle you'll know immediately. Any skilled phyisical therapist can also palpitate your psoas muscle. It has now been 6 months and it hasn't healed, which means it is not going to heal on it's own. You'll probably need surgery on that as now you have scar tissue on the tendon and/or psoas muscle. Think of it as ripping a tendon, literally a rip, little tears into the tendon.
