Extreme Heart Palpitation Attack

Hi Everyone,

Im a 22 year-old male. I have had the feeling like my heart skips beats for years now. I have been to 4 cardiologists now and have had x-rays, ultrasounds of my heart, EKGs, etc... and they are trying to say that everything is ok. Yesterday I had the scariest encounter I have ever had. Usually the flutters will last only a few seconds and then go away. Yesterday they lasted for almost 6 minutes. about every 10 beats I would feel the skipping in my chest and this went on for so long. Is this a sign that the doctors missed something and I will soon die?

you are not going to die. Many people get skipped beats and I have had them as well. Mine have lasted way longer than six minutes. As long as your testing is normal, these are not harmful. They are very common with stress and anxiety. Doctors do these tests all the time and they know exactly what to look for so you are OK. One thing you can do is try to bring down your stress and anxiety level because that will help decrease or eliminate the skipped beats and flutters.

The more you focus and your heartbeat, the more you will have those symptoms of skipped beats because you’re making your brain anxious. try laying down and relaxing listening to relaxing music, Nature Sounds, meditations for anxiety, etc. These can all be found on YouTube. Long slow deep breathing can also help you relax. Try to get a handle on what is causing anxiety in your life. Take care

Welcome to the club! My palpitations have led me to anxiety and panic attacks! You dont want to go there! Once you have a panic attack it leads to all kinds of stuff you wont get out of! Mine started after a weird filling like air go through my vain and blacked out for a split second, my palpitations have sometimes went on all day or maybe just a couple times a day making me feel flush, light headed, shaky, for the past seven years. I have all kinds of testing done from multiple places and they cant find a thing. . DONT WORRY ABOUT IT! Just keep yourself from having a panic attack over it.
