Extreme measures - ADHD drugs for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

There have been a few trials in this country so far but nothing much. However physicians in the US are prescribing Ritalin for CFS patients with some success provided you don't overdo it on the days you feel OK. Anybody have any experience of this?

It may not work for everyone but perhaps you should consider trying the smallest dose possible.

I was taking 30 mgs. of Vyvanse for about three months, I felt like my old self for the first time in a very long time. Suddenly it just stopped helping. Perhaps I shouldn't have taken it everyday. I read about another medication called Nuvigil, however, my insurance is denying me authorization. I'm in the process of fighting with the insurance to try to get it approved. If I didn't have to work it wouldn't be as much of an issue but when I feel like I'm goingto nod off while driving it's not safe. I feel like I'm stuck in an awful place, I have bills that must be paid whether my health is bad or not. So frustrating!!!

It is my 4rth week using Ritalin for a longterm CF. The drug continues to work wonders. Slow release is my preferred variety.
I had spent years despairing whether I would ever get my life back from CF. I have tried countless therapies. This is the only one that has worked.
FYI, my CF is likely an effect of pulmonary sarcoidosis.
I would not take the time to write except I understand the hopeless feelings that often accompany CF.
