I have noticed that when my doctor does give me medication it make me more more tired than I already am. As everyone has been telling me I shouldn't be tired at my ages but I don't know what to do or how to cope with it. I have been to the doctor too many time And they don't have a clue. I'm starting to think it more serious now. any advice pleases really urgent

I don't think they would have given vit D unless you had a low reading. You would also need to take them for at least three months to get any decent effect. Did you ask for a printout of your results? I normally just ask the receptionist. My GP told me one time my blood test result had improved when I checked, it had gone up. I told her and she said it was only a little, I pointed out it had increased by 60% and she had said it had gone down!

Hi Hayley,
Can you remember a trigger to your symptoms (such as after a virus, traumatic experience etc) Or do you feel they came on gradually? There are many things such as vitamin/mineral deficiencies that can cause such tiredness but if all tests are fine and you can pin point a trigger, then it could be a condition called cfs/me (Google to see if your symptoms match up) Its no fun trying to find out what is causing us to be so tired, I know. Persevere though and don't be fobbed off. If you've not been tested for vitd, b12 and iron levels-ask to be tested. Ask to Check thyroid if you have symptoms of conditions linked to problems there.
Hope this helps

Thank you so much. I been tested for all that and it all clear... I do work but not sure if that is a trigger.im not sure where to start trying to find out why I'm tried. It isn't normal. Should I go back and see my GP.

Are you in the UK? If so you could ask to be referred to the cfs/me service by your doctor (all blood tests have to be normal to be able to access the service) can you remember when it all started?

Yeah I am in the UK. Would I just need to go and see my GP and tell them that I want to be referred to a specialist about it because Alll my test have cone back normal . I'm not sure I just remember that I start getting frustrated when I am tried and taking it out on my family because I don't have the energy to do the task and job my mum ask me to do and event work I do struggle. But I am trying to cope but I just keep upset because the doctors don't even know why I'm tried....

Hi Hayley,
Yes, ask for referral from the doctor's. They're a few services around the country. Sometimes a sleep disorder can cause the tiredness due to not getting enough REM sleep I believe also.
I now how frustrating it is not having the energy and people not understanding that. And how frustrating it is when doctors and specialists don't know. I only asked for my referral because a friend with similar symptoms to me was referred by their GP. I'd been feeling tired for 18 months and had never heard of the condition or that there could be a link. It was a relief to have a reason and also be able to tell people why I was feeling exhausted all the time.
It can make us feel even more drained when it feels like a losing battle, but, rest is a huge part of the equation if it is cfs/me and not feeling bad about that.
Hope this helps
