Extremely itchy butt crack, now zits on my butt are turning to boils

I've had an itchy crack for a long time. I've been given creams for it. And it comes and goes. Its mostly bad at night, but also after bowel movements. When I clean it its like the skin there is soft and comes of a little. This usually makes the itching subside and then it comes back moist and itchy again. I've used powders creams, etc. Even hemorrhoid wipes. Recently I've been getting abscesses on my butt. They start like itchy zits then swell until they begin to drain. I've been to the doctor and they didn't do anything but tell me about keeping them warm. The first few times they got infected before draining and I got antibiotics for it. These last few have drained quickly and without infection. The doctor said if they break open and drain on their own 'they should be fine' and it should clear up. I'm frustrated with the pain and waiting for them to heal over.
