Extremely overactive bladder

I am a 55 year old male with an extremely overactive bladder

I have been to see a consultant who has prescribed "Tamsulosin 400microgram" - I take one daily at night

My condition is really starting to affect my life - I need to go for a pee - all of the time - sometimes 3 or 4 times in an hour - my flow is good and painless

What are my options ?

Ask your urologist for a bladder relaxing anticholinergic medicine. i had overactive bladder and Tolterodine 2mg twice per day sorted it out and i was able to get back to near normal. Still have to go 10-12 times per say and 3 times per night but its much better than it was.

I have an OAB and recently was prescribed Tolterdine 4mg capsule (Detrol is the brand) and hope it will work. Tamsulosin is for enlarged prostate and would help with the flow so I wonder why your Urologist did not focus on your OAB first and prescribe OAB medicine.
