Eye Floaters

Hi all! For those of you with eye floaters / eye issues, can you describe what they are like? Are they worse at a certain time of day? Mine are driving me nuts. I've had a ton of eye issues but according to my Optometrist, everything looks okay. Still scares me though!

    Hi Brittney,

I have about 4 floaters in my right eye, and 1 or 2 in my left. They definitely came with the onset of the infection (in fact it was one of the first things I noticed, along with the sore throat).

A couple of them are like little dots, and two others are more like 'wisps' or cobweb-shaped. I now really only notice them when I'm out and it's bright, or when I'm looking at a blank/mono-coloured surface. They're difficult to focus on and really do 'float' in and out of view.

I've seen the optometrist twice about them, along with other eye issues I've had thanks to mono (sore, irritated eyes, redness, eye fatigue, 'gluey' eyes, worsening night vision), and she assures me my eyes are fine. I still have little flare ups though when the virus decides to fight back (every few days at this point, man I hate EBV).

I've been juicing heaps with fruit and veg - including carrots - in the hope that it might help. Other people on here have posted that their floaters eventually went away, so fingers crossed 😃

    Hope this helps,

    Emma

Thank, you Emma! 😃 I can sort of see mine when I close my eyes too which is super weird. I feel like this virus has settle right behind my left eye lol. I wake up with really dry eyes now and I find that makes it all worse! I have one big one and then a few dots as you describe. Are yours a certain colour?

I can see one of mine when I close my eyes too. Most of them are a dark colour (brown or black, not sure), but one of them is more like a clear bubble. SO weird.

It must be a terrible symptom to have Brittney, I only hope it all settles down for you soon. Still thinking about you and let's keep hoping in God for better and brighter days ahead.
