Eye problems

Hi there for a few weeks now been getting occasional headaches, eyes feel heavy and have been sore. Went to optician and wen they took the photo there was a small white patch at the back of my eye. She ace me drops to relieve any dryness and referred me to eye specialist. She said didn't think was anything to worry about but can't help but....

She said my vision was fine. I have also been getting pain in back of neck and in my arm. Also woke with numbness and pins & needles. I know it seem strange but dnt know if connected with eye probs? I.e nerves maybe?

I am worried could be serious and optician just didn't say sad does anyone know about these eye changes?

    Dear Lisa:

Knowledge is power!  Go to a opthamologist with good credentials and get an expert

opinion.  Then you will know what you are dealing with and can go from there.

Hi Lisa, I am also wondering because of your neck and shoulder pain if you possibly have cervical spondylosis (degeneration in your neck which can radiate into your shoulder), as this can also cause you headaches and eye pain. This would be in keeping with nerve pain, tingling and pins and needles. If you have no answer from the eye specialist you should see you GP who may in turn refer you to a rheumatologist. Good luck with finding out what is causing you your pain. X

Hi gizmo. Thank you for that. I also think because the last 12 mths I've had health problems (nothing serious) and wonder at times whether part of it could be stress related. My job can sometimes b stressful although I feel fine at the moment. If I am not happy with outcome when I see eye specialist I will go back to doctors. I have MRI few mths ago who said has slight loss of curvature in neck. They were going to send me for nerve conductive tests but it never happened rolleyes

Hi Lisa it's so annoying when you are told you are going to have certain tests but they don't happen. I have complete loss of the curvature in my neck, 4 degenerated discs and 3 trapped nerves plus a whole lot of other things going on so it can be very painful at times and cause me similar symptoms to yours. I also suffer with stress anxiety and panic attacks so at times can be horrible. Push for your nerve conduction test and I really hope you can get the help you need very soon. Pls keep us all updated xx

Thanks gizmo. I've been given omeprezole for reflux probs but not sure if anxiety. Get like a tightness at the back of my throat as if something is stuck. It's fine when I swallow so no problems there. I shall see what happens but once this is sorted hopefully Friday I will look into the other problem. U never know whether these things are connected or not. Feel bit of a hypocondriac going docs all time but I wnt leave alone until I'm satisfied that all is ok 🙀 have u been told that the loss of curvature will cause further problems later on? I think it's true when people say once u hit 40 it's all down hill! Lol. Thank you for your support I will keep u posted smile

Yes Lisa, it's common to be given omeprazole or lansaprazole for acid reflux but you can also take gaviscon after each meal. No you are certainly not a hypochondriac, your symptoms are sounding more and more like fibro or CFS to me. I felt the same too until I thought that all my symptoms must link somehow - ans the answer is - they do rolleyes
