Eye problems

I have been a patient of early Glaucoma and early dry AMD and has been getting treatment for these for the last over 3 years. Some one mentioned that Retina Specialist is not the right Doc to treat Glaucoma. I never knew this difference. Can some one throw some light so that I am at least clear about it?

Usually it's an opthalmologist who deals with glaucoma issues. In some countries there are specialist optometrists who are able to treat the condition but they arent permitted to do surgery etc. A retina specialist is highly trained and will have had specialised opthalmology training as part of that, so I dont think you could find anybody better in treating your condition.

I agree with loxie that an Ophthalmologist is the best doctor to treat Glaucoma. I was seeing a Retina Specialist for bleeding behind my eye but he sent me back to my Ophthalmologist for my Glaucoma treatment after he was done treating the bleeding.
