Eyes and Anxiety

Hi all

Does anybody suffer with any eye symptoms with their anxiety?

I currently have severe health anxiety and sometimes I find it hard to focus my eyes and my eyeballs start to feel a bit funny. I am not sure whether this is affected more because I wear contact lenses.

Thanks for any help/support.

First consider if an Eye Test is needed, we are supposed to get them checked every two years in the UK.

If you feel the problem is to do with your medication, check on the information leaflet in the medication box.

If you are on your computer without a break in poor light, like at this time, you may have eye strain from using your computer, the glare can cause problems. Take a break every now and then

If your eyes are dry, you can purchase eye drops from chemist, Supermarket , or GP Surgery. Generally it is cheaper to take advice of a chemist, they can suggest types of drops to use. Wash your eyes out with warm water, that can reduce sleep in the eyes and clear floaters etc, on occasions. Eye baths used to be available at a chemist,

    Hi Hannah,

Yes, anxiety can cause some funky eye symptoms but the best way to relieve your mind is to see an eye doctor that way they can let you know for sure and hopefully that will help with your anxiety.

    Good luck!!

I think you need to see an eye dr, you could go to your nearest eye hospital where they usually have eye casualty clinics . Eye baths are no longer used due to the possibility of eye infections.

I would not recommend that you put anything in your eyes without the say so  of an eye dr.

Also you could be allergic to the contact eye fluid.

    Hope this helps. .
