Eyes and vision

I have recently been diagnosed with lyme. It ended up being clinical because of results being ind. By far my worst symptoms are severe eye pain and visual disturbances that no one can help with. I stuggled with this almost a year with no diagnosis at all. I even went back for another mri because the eye pain is absolutely unbearable and the visual disturbances are unreal. My eyes are also red all the time. The worst visual disturbances are bad afterimages with my eyes open and closed, seeing blue all the time with my eyes closed, seeing clear silhouettes of things I look at, flashing lights, white dancing lights in vision, sparks of light, seeing spots and things that aren’t there like look at a cloud or something and look somewhere else and see a dark colored spot, seeing light all the time with my eyes closed no matter how long or dark the room is and so much more. I’ve been to many specialists neuro op and so much more with no avail. I’ve posted about this before just not in the lyme forum. No one can give me a diagnosis for this debilitating pain and visual problems. I’m on iv rocephin right now and Praying with everything in me it will kick in and help my eyes and vision this has taken life from me as far as being able to do anything at all. If anyone has experienced anything like this or can help in any way please do so. Thank you and God Bless

Yes experienced severe eye pain. It was the co infections rather than Lyme. So think babesia and bartonella. For me it was babesia. Depending on where that eye pain is you will be able to research which one it is and treat accordingly alongside the lyme even if naturally. I’ve liased with a few people who have said they too experienced it and it went away with treatment. There are supplements or food that can help with your eyes so cod liver oil is a basic one. Lutein powder is the better one.  So maybe introduce those as a supportive measure?

Anyway I just wanted to reach out and tell you it did get better for me. Good luck.

Thank you for the reply. My llmd clinically diagnosed me with babesia. Do you know what actually helped you the most?

Cryptolepsis, Sida Acuta and the things i mentioned above alongside antibiotics including ceftin and bactrim. Eat very clean diet. High on nutrition.  I can’t emphasise this enough.

If you feel it worsening sometimes you need to back down on meds and start at very low dose of everything again.
